In fact, it was born in the 1980s when a London bartender was asked to make a drink that would “wake me up, and then fck me up.” ( you’d never guess the model) And just like that — vodka, coffee liqueur, and a shot of espresso came together to create a legend.

1. I got fired from my first office job for “not fitting in,” and I have struggled with my self-identity since then. Although it was a lesson well learned and never the right job for me, it really did leave a mark.
2. I had big dreams of going to a private college and becoming a doctor. I even pushed myself to finish high school early, only to be set back and have my entire plan derailed. Now, I am more than certain that wasn’t the path for me.
3. I’m often paralyzed from taking action by overanalyzing, limiting thoughts, and comparison. I am my own worst enemy at times.
4. I am an amazing support system for others and can motivate just about anyone. Yet, I struggle to find the motivation to create a single post.
5. When I was a teenager, I wanted nothing more than to get married and have kids. Now, as I reach 30, I can’t imagine having my own children—but we have started the process to foster 👼
6. I started a sober journey because I was tired of embarrassing myself and having memory gaps. It has not been peaches and cream, but there are so many rewards to sobriety.
7. I forget that even though I’m in therapy and actively working on myself, my childhood trauma still affects me. I recently recognized a new trigger that kept me from walking into a show I reallllly wanted to be at.
8. I’m in recovery from being a people-pleasing perfectionist. For anyone on the same path, just know there is so much relief on the other side. It’s different but can you imagine letting your shoulders down a bit?
9. There is a constant pressure for me to accomplish more.
10. I know the value and worth of our business, but I still get way too caught up in the likes, comments, and followers
